Use Employee Recognition Awards To Show Employees You Care

Employee recognition awards are one of the simplest ways that a company can show appreciation for an employee. Many companies do not offer employee recognition awards because they never even think to do it. Other companies overdo it and give out an employee recognition award for every little that the employee does. There is a happy medium that can benefit both the company and the employees.

Employees enjoy receiving awards. They are trained from the time that they are in preschool to be awarded when they do something good. So, having awards at work can be just as beneficial as when awards were received in school.

Awards do not have to be huge awards that are large and expensive. An award can be a printout from the computer that recognizes the employee for a full year of service or completing projects on time or boosting the companies profits in a quarter. Some companies give out awards to salesman for having the highest amounts of sales in a time period. All of these are excellent examples of giving employees awards.

Employee recognition awards can be given out in front of co-workers or in private. This basically depends on what the award being given is for. If the award is for twenty years of service with the company, this deserves to be given out in front of co-workers, but if the award is for something small like getting a project done on time, it can be given out in private.

While printouts are nice and can be hung on the wall or at home, other employee recognition awards are available. They can be something small like a money clip that is engraved or a frame that has the years of service with a company engraved in it. These are inexpensive awards that can be given to an employee and has a lot of value and use as well.

Some companies give employees gold watches when they are the best salesman that year or if they have been at the company a long time. Some employees receive gold jackets if they achieve a goal that was set by the company. Whatever the award is for it is nice to receive something from the company because the employee knows that the company appreciates them.

It also gives the employees something to work for. Many employees thrive on receiving awards and recognition and it is important to give these types of employees this or they will become unmotivated.

Awards are a great way to build a relationship with employees. They will feel like a part of a team instead of just another employee working at a large company. It gives them a chance to shine and a chance to work towards something. Otherwise, they will feel like they are working just for their paycheck each week and will only do what they need to do to get that. With awards, both the company and employee can benefit from the advantages of giving and receiving awards.
